Joan Mants, Abbotsford, B.C.

Hi Ivy, I am so so sorry to be this late with my birthday greetings to you. I had an aunt who told me she was quite happy when I was late for her birthday, because it meant the celebrations continued — I sure hope you feel the same way!

Anyway, I wish you a very belated happy birthday and best of wishes. I wish you much happiness and hope that you stay safe. You sure did raise great kids Ivy — your Lynne is one of the best, and I’m lucky she still calls me a friend.

P.S. You look amazing, love that picture of you!

Tait and Louise Given, Vancouver, B.C.

Thanks so much to Tait Given for sending his birthday wishes to Ivy on her 90th birthday. We really appreciate it — Ken and Ivy always enjoyed visits with Tait, Louise and the extended families over the years. Ivy especially enjoyed a visit from Nancy and Steve in June 2019 (see below)! Best wishes to both you and Louise — take care.

Happy 90th birthday Mrs. MacDonald! Your 90th birthday felt like a good time to say “Thank you”…

Thank you for putting up with us when Myrna had her impromptu high school parties and we dipped into the mysterious grapefruit slush! We thought it was a good idea to have a late-night breakfast complete with pancakes, eggs, and bacon. I can only imagine the mess! The next day, somehow you knew the perfect concoction so that we didn’t feel any after-effects.

I also have a fond memory of Mike and I visiting you. It may have been the first time Mike met you. We heard about a school project you helped your grandson with constructing a female body part. That is a fun and amazing grandma!

Your door was always open with a warm welcome and tea with delicious cookies or a fresh bun and the best raspberry jam.

We wish you all the best on your 90th birthday and many more years of health and happiness! Love Terri and Mike.

Hi Ivy … such a special milestone to celebrate 90 years. I worked with Lynne for many years and she shared many wonderful memories with us.

One of my favourites was when you found yourselves in the midst of the parade in Prince Albert and Ken said, “Smile and wave Ivy, smile and wave.” I can just picture this!

So many precious memories, and I wish you many more to come … bless you and keep smiling and waving, Ivy!!!

Urs and Susi Reusser, Steep Creek, Sask.

Happy 90th birthday, Ivy! You have always been a very special lady in our lives. We have so many memories; ALL the good times we had in your house, the LAUGHS we shared (and jokes!), the special times our boys experienced with Grandma Ivy … and so much more.

Speaking of jokes, here’s one from Urs:

Ole and Lena were checking into a swanky New York hotel. Ole said to the bellboy, ”I ain’t gonna take no tiny little room like dis wit no bed or windows. Yew can’t treat me like a fool yust because I’m from a small town and don’t travel much.”

The bellboy replied, “Sir, I’m sorry, but this isn’t your room. It’s just the elevator.”

You have been more than a friend, and we feel so very lucky to know you! We wish you a wonderful 90th birthday and hope you can enjoy many more fun days full of laughter with family and friends!

With lots of love, Urs and Susi and family
