Noreen Bentz

Dear Ivy (Mrs. MacDonald as we always called you growing up):

I heard through the grapevine that you are 90 today (on Dec. 7).  Holy Moly is right (I watched your video clip, I loved it)!  Where did the time go — here you are 90 and I turned 70 this year!

It seems like only a few years have passed since I spent so many wonderful and fun-filled weekends with Lynne and your family out at the farm.  Your house was always full of laughter and joy and kids (very much like my house was)!  Kids always sneaking around trying to spy on Lynne and me after we had been out the night before!

I will always remember the photo shoot we set up with me wearing your wedding dress and Lynne, of course, as my bridesmaid.  Every once in a while that picture surfaces, and it always makes me smile!  One other memory that is vivid to me is when Lynne and I visited you in the hospital when Myrna was born.  There are just so many great memories with your family, and I am so very thankful and blessed to have Lynne and the MacDonalds in my life — probably since I was 15 years old.

So today, as you celebrate 90 years, I wish you a beautiful day and a Happy Birthday.  I can only hope to look as good as you when my 90 years roll around.  You still look vibrant, beautiful and healthy as can be!  Good for you Ivy MacDonald,  you just keep on keeping on!

Love, cheers and warm birthday hugs, Noreen Bentz

90!! Truly wonderful!! We have not had the pleasure of getting to know you Ivy, but we do know your daughter Lynne! We know her beauty, fun, loving and kind personality stems from her parents!

You are obviously an amazing woman and a Momma that Lynne is so proud of! Enjoy your day, Ivy, as it is so very special! Happy 90th birthday!

Alan and I would like to wish you a very happy birthday, celebrating 90 years! Our connections to your family go way back, and include the time when Alan worked for you and Ken on your Steep Creek farm when he was a teen.

We have enjoyed many family celebrations and friendships with your clan over the years.  We are sorry that this pandemic won’t allow a face-to-face gathering.  We hope that you continue to enjoy your own home in P.A. You are a wonderful woman who has many accomplishments to celebrate.

Our best wishes, Lani and Alan Scragg

Donovan MacDonald, Victoria, B.C.

Speaking of Donovan, here he is! Thanks to Donovan and his little friend Penny for sending birthday wishes to Gramma Ivy! 🙂

Donovan and Hilary had a chance to see Gramma Ivy earlier this summer. Sandy took a photo of them having a socially distanced “cuppa” with Grandma Ivy in her kitchen. As you can see from Hilary’s photos, Fiona clearly rules the roost at Ivy’s place!

Tanner Byrne, Prince Albert, Sask.

Here’s a birthday wish from Tanner — Ivy always loved it when Donovan, Tanner and other friends came to her house for lunch breaks when they were in high school. Great memories!

Thanks so much for joining the online birthday party, Tanner — Mom really enjoys seeing the videos and photos of you and your girls!
